Youth Accounts

Cedar Point wants to help members of all ages learn and practice financial responsibility. And what better way to teach our younger members than by opening an account? Learn about our Looney Tunes and YOUth Savings club accounts below.

Open a new Youth Account between August 1 and October 1, 2018, and Cedar Point will deposit a $25 dividend in the account*! For every account opened, Cedar Point will donate a back pack and school supplies to students in our local districts. Who is Eligible? Dependent children of those eligible for Cedar Point membership are eligible to open a Youth Account. The account requires a $5.00 minimum deposit and must be opened "in care of" a responsible adult who is in the Cedar Point Field of Membership.
What do I need to open a Youth Account? To open a Youth account, you must bring along the youth's Social Security card or Birth Certificate (with SSN available.) The responsible adult opening the account will need a driver's license or valid government issued ID. If the ID does not include a physical address, the responsible adult must provide other proof of address.
Can I give a minor permissions to make transactions? Yes. Provided the youth has reached 14 years of age, the responsible adult can opt to give the youth permission to make the following transactions: deposits, withdrawals, cash checks, have a checking account, have a Visa Debit Card. The youth must have a valid government issued ID to be given such permissions.
How many accounts can I open? Only one new Youth Account per child is eligible for this promotion.
When will the $25 be deposited in my Youth Account? Accounts must be open for 60 days to receive the $25 dividend. The $25 dividend will subsequently be deposited into the Youth Account within seven business days of the end of that 60 day period.

Youth Account Eligibility

Dependent children of those eligible for Cedar Point membership are eligible to open their own Looney Tunes or YOUth Savings Club account. The account requires a $5.00 minimum deposit and must be opened "in care of" a responsible adult who is in the Cedar Point Field of Membership.

Age Limitations

Children through the age of thirteen are members of the Looney Tunes Club. On their fourteenth birthday they are automatically transferred to the YOUth Savings Club. YOUth Savings Club members become full members of the credit union on their eighteenth birthday. Looney Tunes members will receive a gift with each deposit. The A's=$$$ and "A"chievement Award programs listed below are open to all children through high school.

For every "A" the student receives in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, or other Fundamental Requirements, Cedar Point will deposit $1.00 in the student's account! Please bring in the report card and the tellers will be happy to help you. There is a maximum $5.00 per report period. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to match.

The deadline for each report card is set for approximately one month after the scheduled report card date as posted for St. Mary's County Schools. 

"A" chievement Awards

If a student is on the "A" Honor Roll, (Highest Honors) bring in a copy of the report card. The student will be entered into a special drawing at the end of the year for $100.00 Cash!

Cedar Point is looking to the community to help us gather school supplies, which will be donated to classrooms in our local school districts. See below for items we are looking for. Items will be accepted at all branches.

Making a Difference

With your help, Cedar Point was able to donate over 160 backpacks full of school supplies to students in St. Mary's, Calvert, and Charles counties for the 2017-2018 school year. Seniors Club

If you're 55 or older, you automatically qualify for Cedar Point Federal Credit Union's exclusive financial club: The Seniors Club. There is no application, just ask a member service representative to note your account. Check out the benefits of becoming a club member below.

 

Club Benefits

  • Free Checks: There is a limit of one box of basic checks per order. As always, there are no monthly or per check fees.
  • Free Official/Teller Checks: This is a savings of up to $5.00 per check.
  • Free Money Orders: This is a savings of $2.00 per money order.
  • Free Bank to Bank Wire Transfers: This is a savings of $25.00 per wire transfer. Limited to three free wires per month.
  • Western Union Transfers: This is a person to person transfer. Senior Club members will not be charged the Cedar Point fees for Western Union transfers. The Western Union fees will still be applicable to the transaction.
  • ATM Fees Reimbursed: Save your ATM receipts from non-Cedar Point ATM machines and bring them to your nearest Cedar Point office and you will be reimbursed for those fees (excluding surcharge fees).   • Free Stop Payments: This is a savings of $25.00 per stop payment order.
  • Free Notary Services: This is a savings of $2.00 per stamp.
  • Dividend Checks Mailed: Upon request, dividend checks can be mailed quarterly to you instead of being deposited into your account.
